Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the pattern of smart device usage by toddlers and to verify the difference in ADHD symptoms according to the time spent using smart devices and the level of smart device addiction. The subjects comprised 409 toddlers aged between 3-6 years old. The results of this study were as follows. First, a majority of the toddlers had the experience of using smart devices. Second, according to the average use time per day during the week, the overuse user showed higher ADHD symptoms than the general user. Third, the risk group with higher levels of addiction to smart devices showed significantly higher ADHD symptoms than the general user. The significance of this study is in that it examines the connection between smart device usage, and ADHD symptoms in toddlers by identifying the fact that ADHD symptoms increase when toddlers spend more time with smart devices per day on weekdays or when the level of smart device addiction is higher.
